How Acefyl Syrup Works?

As we know it contains two ingredients i.e. acefyllin and Diphenhydramine. So because of their different natures, we will discuss two mechanisms one for acefyllin and the second one for Diphenhydramine.

Mechanism of Acefyllin:

Acefyllin is a bronchodilator that helps widen the airways, making breathing easy.

It inhibits an enzyme known as phosphodiesterase (PDE) from breaking down another substance called cAMP (Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate). when the level of cAMP goes up it helps widen the muscles surrounding airways.

Mechanism of Diphenhydramine:

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that treats allergic symptoms such as runny nose, itching, watery eyes, and sneezing.

there are chemicals in the body known as histamines responsible for allergic symptoms such as runny nose, itching, sneezing, and watery eyes. Diphenhydramine attaches to the h1 receptors of histamine cells and thus blocks the action of histamines. thus it reduces allergic symptoms
