Introduction

Baclin tablet is a medication used to treat muscle spasms. It belongs to a class of drugs called skeletal muscle relaxants. It works by affecting the central nervous system (CNS) to reduce the severity and frequency of muscle spasms.

It contains Baclofen as an active ingedient.

How does it works?

Mechanism

Baclofen works by calming down the nerve signals that cause muscles to tighten up. It mimics a natural chemical in the brain called GABA, which helps relax muscles. When Baclofen binds to certain receptors in the brain and spinal cord, it reduces the signals that make muscles spasm or become stiff, leading to a reduction in muscle tightness and spasms.

Overdose

If you have taken this medication more than the recommeded by the physician. Seek medical help.

Missed Dose

If you have missed the dose take it if the time to the next dosage is far. otherwise don’t double the dose to cover the missed one.

Warning and Precautions

Don’t stop taking Baclin tablet suddenly due to the risk of severe withdrawal symptoms.

Patients should avoid alcohol and be cautious when using other medications that affect the CNS. Combining this medication with alcohol or other CNS depressants can enhance the sedative effects, leading to increased drowsiness, dizziness, and respiratory depression.

Patients Should use this medication with cauiton if they have history of renal impairment, seizures, or psychiatric disorders.

Use with caution while driving, because this tablet can cause drowsiness.

Don’t use after the passing of expiry date.

  • Store at room temprature.
  • Keep it away from moisture and sunlight.
  • Keep it away from children.
